Why we built AmberLark
Budgeting tools tend to fall into two camps: overly simple trackers that show you where money went after it is gone, and overly complex systems that require a PhD in personal finance to set up.
AmberLark sits in the middle. It connects to your real bank accounts so you never enter a transaction manually. It uses AI to categorize spending based on your actual behavior — not generic rules. And it supports both traditional monthly budgets and pool budgets for the irregular expenses that real life throws at you.
We built AmberLark because we wanted a tool that works the way households actually manage money: shared accounts, varying expenses, and not enough time to maintain a spreadsheet.

Accuracy over appearance
Every feature on our marketing site reflects something that works in the product today. We do not advertise roadmap items or stretch capabilities.
Security is non-negotiable
Bank connections are read-only. We never store your bank credentials. Two-factor authentication is available for every account. We take your financial data seriously.
Less manual work over time
AmberLark's AI is designed to reduce the time you spend categorizing transactions as you use it. The goal is for the tool to do more so you do less.
Fair pricing
All features are included on every plan. You only pay more if you need more bank connections. No feature gating, no surprise upsells.
